Hello, I'm Laura.
In 2013, I was faced with, what was to me, the daunting prospect of going to University. Feeling somewhat more than apprehensive and as though I hadn't achieved much in my 18 years of life, I started looking for something that would keep my mind entertained and actually be useful.
I had seen a friend of mine post a link to her new blog on Facebook. I checked it out and decided to give it a go! It was the second time I'd tried to start a blog and I was still fighting the publishing nerves. But, seeing her blog and having that spare-of-the-moment courage was the best thing that could have happened to me then.
My blog became my saviour, taking my mind away from the personal changes that I was going through and helping me cope with the fact that things were going to be different.
Since August 2013, my blog has grown to be more than just a way for me to manage my emotions and has drawn together some of my many favourites: writing, friends and musing.
After a year of, near-on, constant blogging 'The Red Grin' (previously 'Turning Old Pages') has become as much a part of my life as my heart: it pumps me full of life. (Corny, I know, but how else can I explain this?)
So, welcome! I hope that you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing and (if you've been here before) it's nice to have you back!
